High Altitude Car Show and a New Place to Eat: Take Your Summer Road Tripping to the Limit in North Park

The summer festivities really get going this upcoming weekend in Walden, CO, starting with the High Altitude Car Show and Burnout Contest. We have some new surprises waiting for you this summer in Walden. With plenty of events and a new restaurant downtown to fix almost any hunger, Summer just keeps getting better and better!

Cars lined up on Main Street in Walden for the High Altitude Car Show and Burnout Contest

High Altitude Car Show and Burnout Contest

When: June 20, 11am-3pm

Where: Main Street, Walden, CO

Hosted by Zirkel Mountain Pies, this is the third year of the High Altitude Car Show. In past years the cars that have rolled into Walden have represented a broad cross-section of American car culture. From sporty muscle cars like the 427 Cobra to old classics like the 1957 Thunderbird, vintage World War II army jeeps, and show-car eye-candy restorations.

From old trucks to highway cruisers, every vehicle is a piece of history. Visit with drivers and the pinups who show off their cars. Many in the lineup will be a once in a lifetime chance to see. You won’t see these Detroit steel beasts during the Colorado Grand rally in September. It’s a rare chance to see the height of American automobiles right here in our little place in the mountains.

The car show is the preamble to the big event in which locals burn some serious rubber during the burnout contest on the corner of 5th and Main Street in Walden. Competitors will run the tires right off the rims to show who has the best burnout in all the land. Be sure to stick around for the event, since it is over way too soon. Take your time at the vendor show going on during the car show for one of a kind items, gifts, and more.

Do You Have What It Takes?

If you think you’ve got what it takes to compete in the burnout contest, it’s not too late to register! Call Dustin at 303-501-0976 for details.

From rat rods to classic coupes: a broad cross-section of American motoring awaits

Prices are surprisingly affordable considering the diversity of the menu. Directions are easy to find Zirkel Mountain Pies too--just listen to that growling stomach and follow your nose!
