The Powderhorn Cabins Continue a Family Legacy
What does 60 years of family tradition look like? These days, the answer to that question might be harder to find, but one North Park family is taking up the torch and carrying it onward for yet another generation. Hallie and Luke Jones are doing just that with the Powderhorn Cabins in Gould with many more years to come. With summer on the way, keep reading to find out more about what is happening to give these old rustic cabins a new look.
Some new changes at the Powderhorn Cabins
The Powderhorn Cabins have been in Hallie’s family for over sixty years, starting with her grandpa, Richard Clark. A favorite of hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts, you may have seen the Powderhorn Cabins as you passed through Gould, CO on the Cache la Poudre/North Park Scenic Byway. There's much more too the story, which you can read all about at the Powderhorn Cabins website.
After his recent passing, his granddaughter, Hallie, has completed buying out other members of the family to continue his legacy. She and her husband, Luke Jones are setting out on a great adventure of preserving her grandfather's legacy and continuing on one of their own. Sitting in the shadow of the Nokhu Crags and just at the edge of the open plains of the North Park basin, Richard Clark created a getaway worthy of any outdoorsman wanting to get away from it all. They are hoping to do the old place justice and breathe new life into it for generations to come.
